Dress Material for Women — Unstitched Suits with Dupatta
Simple2Stylish stocks over a hundred unstitched dress materials for women, and every one of them is a complete suit set — top fabric, bottom fabric and a matching dupatta. Dress material and unstitched suit both mean the dupatta is included. The range runs from everyday printed cottons and Jaipuri cotton through Pakistani lawn, ikat print, bandhani, phulkari suit sets and madhubani print, to party wear in gajji silk, modal silk and cotton silk.
Why women still choose unstitched over readymade
A readymade suit is cut to a standard size and hopes it fits. An unstitched salwar suit is customized to fit you. You choose the neckline, the sleeve length, the fall of the kurta and whether the bottom is a salwar, a churidar or a plazo — and you usually pay less doing it, because you are buying fabric rather than fabric plus factory stitching. For anyone who has ever had to get a readymade kurta altered anyway, unstitched is simply the shorter route to a suit that sits properly.
What is in the range
Cotton dress material is the everyday backbone of the collection — breathable, easy to wash and comfortable through an Indian summer — and the cotton family here covers Jaipuri cotton, Pakistani lawn cotton, ikat cotton, cotton satin and phulkari as well as the printed and plain weaves. Bandhani brings the tie-dyed craft of Kutch in Gujarat, on cotton and cotton satin for daily wear and on gajji silk for occasions. Lawn is the fine, lightweight cotton weave associated with Pakistani suits, printed and sometimes embroidered. Jam satin, modal silk, cotton silk, organza, muslin and upada silk carry the sheen that party wear needs, with madhubani print suits and phulkari suit sets alongside them. Ikat and Jaipuri hand block give you the hand-worked prints. Each has its own section, and each is worth browsing on its own terms.
What arrives and what to do with it
Your set arrives uncut and unstitched, with the three pieces folded together. Fabric lengths are printed on every product page so you can check them against your tailor’s requirements before you order. Most customers allow a week for stitching. Our photography uses minimum studio light so the colour you see stays as close to the fabric as possible — we do not light a picture up to make the cloth look better than it is. A shade can still read a little differently depending on your screen’s resolution and the light you are viewing it in. Buy to believe.
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly comes in an unstitched dress material set?
Each set includes the top fabric, the bottom fabric and a matching dupatta, cut to standard salwar suit lengths. Nothing is stitched, so your tailor can size and style it exactly as you wish. The precise fabric lengths are listed on every individual product page.
How much fabric do I get in one suit set?
A standard set carries roughly 2.5 metres for the top, 2 metres for the bottom and 2.25 metres for the dupatta, which is enough for a regular salwar kameez. Exact lengths vary by design and are stated on the product page before you order.
Is an unstitched salwar suit cheaper than a readymade one?
Usually, yes. You are paying for fabric rather than fabric plus factory stitching, and local tailoring often costs less than the mark-up on a finished garment. You also get a fit made to your own measurements instead of a standard size that may need altering anyway.
Do you deliver dress materials across India?
Yes. We dispatch from our base in Nerul, Navi Mumbai to every state in India, including Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Delhi and Maharashtra. Delivery details are confirmed for your pin code at checkout, and tracking is sent to you as soon as the order leaves us.
Can I return a dress material if the colour is not what I expected?
We photograph with minimum studio light rather than heavy studio lighting, so the colour stays as close to the fabric as possible; screen resolution and room lighting can still shift a shade slightly. Our return and refund terms are set out in full on the Return and Refund page.
